Your comments will not appear on the site right away.  Children should be told that it may take awhile for their comment to show up (the Rat has to read them first, and sometimes he is busy doing very important things, such as making anti-cat speeches), but the comments will be up within a day at least.  Comments are moderated for the children’s safety.

Try it for yourself:  If you are at all familiar with blogs, this will be easy.  And if you're not, it's still easy!  Try submitting a comment, if you like, to see how it works.

Sometimes the Rat goes on vacation, but you can still post comments.  The Rat will blog for 1-3 weeks at a time with various schools and book clubs; in between, Ratty goes on vacation, leaving one vacation post up.  Children are welcome to keep sending in comments; they will see their comments go up on the site within a day or so, and Ratty will respond (though not always the next day when he is on vacation).
